A recent study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition finds that drinking coffee before exercising burns more fat. The non-technical  summary is if you drink coffee and exercise in the afternoon you will burn fat more quickly than someone who doesn't drink coffee and exercises (morning or afternoon) and also more quickly than someone who does drink coffee but exercises in the morning.
